WHAT HAVE WE DONE?
According to records, the formation of reserves has reversed the rate of declining numbers of tigers, but do you think we have been successful in doin our best?
PROJECT TIGER
The first step taken to save tigers was launched in 1973 under the name Project TIGER. It aimed at putting a ban on hunting of tigers, development of tiger reserves and regular sensus of tigers. Though the efforts made by the government of India brought a great deal of improvement in condition of tigers but the results were not sufficient. at present, there are only about a thousand tigers remaining.
